UPGRADE NOTICE: Due to some incredibly annoying issues with ModernBill, we'll be updating yet again to the newest of the new version of Plesk: Plesk Reloaded 7.1.3. Even more wizbang cool features in this version which we will be rolling out as we get the billing system up.

This upgrade will occur this evening shortly after midnight PST on both servers, and should involve at max 2 hours of downtime per server, but it should be way less. As always email support if you see any crazy issues. This is a fairly minor update so we don't anticipate any problems.

Man oh man. Modernbill is turning out to be a nightmare install, and since I have about 5 hours a night to work on it from the second I get home from crunch time at work to when i'm just too tired to do it anymore, it's taking forever.

I finally figured out that the main problem I've been having getting ModernBill to talk to Plesk is actually due to two major bugs in Plesk. So we'll be upgrading Plesk this evening to 7.0.4. The update will mean a downtime of 15-45 minutes sometime shortly after midnight PST.

May the force be with us.

Just a little update on what's happening lately. Our billing system is about half setup. I'm going through both servers and removing expired accounts and domains that no longer point to our servers. I'm NOT deleting users who haven't paid but who's domains are still active. Once billing is up, we'll send out bills to all overdue accounts. If they aren't payed in the specified time (we'll either set the time limit at a week or 10 days), then they will be suspended. Failing payment after another week, the clients will be deleted from the servers so we can clean house.

Things will be getting a LOT more organized pretty soon. You'll be able to add bandwidth and services at will via our order system, and all those new fangled tools we promised with the new servers will be coming online. As always let us know if you ahve any questions!

YAY! We've migrated both servers to their new hardware. We had a few glitches and as always learned a TON so that those glitches will never happen again. Luckily we can blame a few on Rackspace.

If you are still seeing any weirdities (tm) then please email support (at) logjamming.com and we'll take care of it asap. Again, the big known issue on Logjamming2 was that some of the "db" directories didn't get copied over which will prevent you from loggin in to your MovableType install. Easy fix, just let us know.

We are now working on cleaning up the server, and making sure everything is up to speed and is running efficiently. Soon we'll have the backups system in place (!) so in the event of drive failure we'll have our butts covered (and yours!). The firewall is working handsomely and we can all rest a little more securely at night and not have to worry about our friends the script kiddies.

NEXT! We are installing modernbill, a super crazy ninja billing and client management system, that will allow us to easily keep up with invoicing you poor customers and keep us from having to shut this thing down because we are too lazy to bill people resulting in us not being able to pay the bills. It also includes a Trouble Ticketing system, so any support issues will be handled more efficiently than through email. We'll hopefully be adding the ability to take credit cards in the coming months as well.

Did i mention we'll be making t-shirts and stickers soon too? Who said that?

Thanks to all of our customers who've stuck with us through out little screw ups and migrations. One more chink in the old armor added.

We are now at the point of cleaning up sporatic issues from the LJ2 migration. There are two known issues.

1. MoveableType db directories didn't get copied over if they were in the root of your domain, outside of the httpdocs folder. We will do this manually tonight, and all should then be well with MT. All modules are installed and working correctly. Any directories that aren't standard Plesk directories in the root didn't get copied due to a bug in the dump script. Lucky us!

2. Gallery installs might be borked. We will address this issue tonight. Please email support if you have a gallery install that seems to be throwing a hissy.

Again, if you see anything out of the ordinary, please email support with your domain, SPECIFIC errors, and how to reproduce the issue so we can check it out.

Thanks!!

The Logjamming2 migration is complete. The DNS switch is going through now. You'll know if you are on the NEW server if when you login to your control panel (https://www.yourdomaingoeshere.com:8443) you see a CIRCLE AROUND THE 2 in the logjamming.com logo. If there is no circle around the 2, you are still seeing the old server.

We know lots of people are seeing some weird stuff going on with their domains today. We are doing a DNS based IP migration which means that We had to switch everyone's IP to another in order to move to the new server for logjamming2. They should all be cleared by tomorrow. We are on top of things so PLEASE be patient with our frail little minds... these migrations are always a nightmare and it may take a day or two to iron out the bugs, but rest assured Josh and I will be getting little to no sleep this week in order to get it done. We will provide info on how to access the old server in the case that you changed any data on your site on the old server after we did the data dump which was transfered to the new server. This will include FTP and Mail. Fear not, nothing has been lost my little ones!

If you're seeing something super crazy, then you can email support, but PLEASE make sure you include VERY SPECIFIC INFORMATION or error messages describing the issue, including the domain/url if pertinent, so we can reproduce the problem.

You guys rock for your patience. Rock Rock Rock, Rock the night away.

We are doing the logjamming2 migration instead of lj3 for various reasons. The first restore failed and a second attempt is in progress right now. All users on that server will be notified via email and a post on this here news page when the restore is complete as well as any further details.

The migration to the new server for Logjamming3.com, as is always the case with these things, was no where near as easy as expected, and had to be aborted after Josh spent all evening into the wee hours of the morn' working on it. We have a grasp on what's giving us a hard time and will attempt it again this weekend... Saturday evening. Thanks again for your patience!

Logjamming3 will be moved over to one of the new servers on Wednesday evening. Expect some downtime while we backup the server and move to the new one. Thanks everyone for your patience during all the little sporatic downtimes we've had... we'll be rocking on the new server soon.
