New Support Regime

August 15, 2008 6:39 pm by brian

Hey ya’ll we’re trying out some new support strategies that we think will work even better than our previous support.

At the moment, every single member of the logjamming staff will now be doing support. Gone are the days of “Brian touches the servers, Josh & Pat talk to the clients, Welch handles the billing, & Chris writes the code”. Now, you’ll get to talk to each and every one of us (though, we can’t promise you’ll talk to a specific someone). If you’ve got any questions about it, just drop us a line: or check out our support site:!

Domain Silliness

So Chris and I talked a bit more tonight about domain registrations and how we’re going to add that feature to our billing software. Trick is, it’s going to be a lot of coding so it may be a but. We promise that we’re hauling ass trying to get stuff working asap.

We recently upgraded the version of plesk. As such y’all should have a much swankier user interface and smoother ride in the control panel. Hot-digitty dog!

Storage storage storage!

So it looks like we’re going to be rolling out our new storage array soon. I’m going to be buying the hardware this week. It’s going to be a 2TB monster which we’re setting up to expand all the way to 14TB. If that doesn’t keep our backups in good working order, ain’t nothing going to keep our backups in good working order!

New logjamming site

We are rolling out both our new site (you’re looking at it), which is based on WordPress, and our new support ticketing system – you can check that out by clicking “support” in the sidebar over there.

Hopefully this will make the whole “logjamming experience” a lot nicer for you guys!

If you are currently experiencing site problems…

If you are currently experiencing site problems, make sure and check with the company you registered your domain with to make sure your “nameservers” are:

If they aren’t, simply log into the website for your registrar (the place you bought your domain name from) and swap that up. If you need directions on how to do that, check out this site: The company who makes them (“Demo Demo”) has lots of good tutorials and stuff like that, unfortunately we’re a couple of broke guys who can’t afford snazzy tutorials (yet) so you can get the idea from their samples. If for some reason, you can’ fit all 4, just put as many as possible. We maintain 4 for redundancy purposes so that if 1 or 2 (or 3….::ack::!) go down your site will stay up.

Finally, we also do domain registrations now too. It’s $10/year and we don’t have it fully automated yet, so if you decide that you want to take us up on the offer, shoot us an email at: and we’ll start the process. You’ll need to confirm you want to move it with the people you’re currently paying, but it’s relatively painless.
